A pioneer in the logistics sector

In a pilot project, the IHK Ostbrandenburg supports companies in determining their ecological footprint. Together with the consultancy firm The Future Living, these companies have drawn up their carbon footprint and derived measures to reduce it. Euba Logistic GmbH in Angermünde was highly motivated to take stock of the situation.
The potential of “New Work”

The Future Living focusses on agile working and tries to find ways to work collaboratively instead of ‘top down’. In doing so, they continue to develop skills with the aim of bringing together social, ecological and economic aspects in the best possible way.
Advocate of sustainability

Back in the day, Brigitte Puppe-Mahler travelled around in a Trabi to sell books. Today she has her own bookshop and ordered books are delivered by bicycle. The IHK Ostbrandenburg supported the Mahler bookshop in calculating its carbon footprint. They were accompanied by the consultancy firm The Future Living.
We felt like missionaries

Saving water is a top priority at Sanicus in Fürstenwalde. When the company learnt about the IHK project to determine its ecological footprint, it quickly got involved. In 2023, Sanicus will expand its carbon footprint reporting to include emissions in the company’s value chain.
A butterfly in the name of cleanliness and sustainability

At Admiral Objekt Wäsche und Arbeitsbekleidung GmbH, environmental awareness has long been part of the company philosophy – now the company’s own CO2 footprint has also been determined: “I enquired at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and got in touch with The Future Living. This gave us a tool for calculating our carbon footprint. It was learning by doing.”
Committed to society and the environment

In a pilot project, the IHK Ostbrandenburg supported five companies in determining their ecological footprint. Together with the consultancy firm “The Future Living”, these companies drew up their carbon footprint and derived measures to improve it. Three companies were particularly convincing.
CO2 balance as certain as cost balance?

Companies must know their carbon footprint. Currently still voluntary for small and medium-sized companies in Germany, the obligation to provide evidence of carbon dioxide emissions will be extended over the next few years according to company size. In a pilot project, the East Brandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Ostbrandenburg) worked with consultants from “The Future Living” to support five companies in determining their carbon footprint. FORUM spoke to Carolin Fürst and Charlotte Francke from “The Future Living” about the project. They also talked about why companies should start before they are required to provide evidence.
