As part of the UCR Trialogue project, the Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas (IETU) has prepared urban climate maps for Zielona Góra and Erkner. The studies present the results of spatial analyses and are intended to support the assessment of local environmental conditions and the identification of areas requiring particular attention in relation to climate-change adaptation.

Meetings of Working Group 1, “Urban Climate Maps”, were held on 23 and 24 September 2026. The first meeting was conducted in German and focused on the maps prepared for Erkner. The second meeting was held in Polish and addressed the maps for Zielona Góra. During the meetings, the analysis results obtained to date and the prepared maps were presented, participants’ feedback was collected, and the next steps were discussed.

The preliminary results of the spatial analyses for both cities will be presented on 21 October 2026 as part of the second International Project Meeting of UCR Trialogue in Zielona Góra. The event will be held under the theme: “Blue-Green Infrastructure – From Analysis to Pilot Project”.

The maps developed will provide a basis for the further planning of adaptation measures. These will include, in particular, blue-green infrastructure measures intended to strengthen the cities’ resilience to the impacts of climate change.
